Don't start counting down yet

I wish I had a Kindle. I really want one.
Paul says I can have one in three years...you know, when we are done with residency/fellowship.
The up-front cost isn't really the problem.
The problem is, as Paul said to me, "Then you'll buy a book every week."
And he's right. I would.

Aaaahhhhhhh, books at my fingertips.
Someday.

Not that I want to wish this residency time away.
We are happy and provided for and life is good.
And this phase of life has it's perks (see previous post).
And everyone I know who has crossed over (those who have finished residency and have a "real" job) assure me that life is still the same.
Because life is life and you're still just you.
And I believe them.

In three years, I'll still just be me.
But I'll be me with a Kindle : )

Because I was thinking of you...

These are my girls.
Some of them are here, and some have recently moved on.
(I'm missing them.)
And I can honestly say, my life wouldn't be the same without any of them.
Like, I'd probably be a crazy person without them.
They've gotten me through the good, the bad, the day-to-day, the crazy, the best, and the I'm not sure I'm going to make it.
Really, I wouldn't be making it without them.
And let's face it, they just make life a lot more fun!

At some point it will be my turn to leave this place we call home.
And because of these girls, I'm more than sure I'll be leaving half my heart in Rochester, MN.
Maybe a more accurate description would be that little pieces of my heart are, and will be, taken all over this country.

For some reason which I don't fully understand but for which I am so grateful, I've been blessed through the different stages of my life with amazing friends. Because I promise you, I'm not half as awesome as they are.

But I've got to say, this time, these women are a standout.

And so, to my Rochester girls
former and current
I love you!

p.s. a few things you will probably notice about these pictures

- I'm not very photogenic
- my friends are all better looking than me
- I'm wearing the same outfit in 2 of them (yes they were different days)
- and Av is attached to me in every one.

I know.

Almost makes you wish you were a kid again...

Today Noah said,
"Oooh yeaaah, this is the life. Doin' stamps and drinkin' milk."

I can't stop laughing about it : )

2 Things

1. The kids have been wanting to sleep here every night
(i.e. the backyard)
but Paul's hips are hurting.

While I get the best of both worlds - join'em in the tent for ghost stories then head back inside.
(Alex likes to head back inside in the middle of the night)

2. Could I please have a baby forever??
Without having another baby?

This one's perfect.

But October 19th is coming all too soon.

That's all.

Love

My brother Tanner and his fiance, Josie.

Love that they came to see us, even if it was for less than 24 hours.
Love that we stayed up way too late (even if it did cost you $180 Tanner)
Love how excited my kids are about their new Aunt.
Love HER, really.

Can't wait till December : )

We're 3 for 3

It took some rigging
But this is up

so that this doesn't happen again.

And so that we don't have to go to the ER again.
At least until the next time my kids do their "things"
Noah - splitting his head open
Alex - passing out

Yep.

Let's hope Avery's thing is not falling down stairs.
