Happy (early) Birthday to me!

Isn't she a beauty?  I LOVE my new cruiser that Paul got me for my birthday.  I'm actually not much of a bike rider.  I haven't owned one (or ridden one) since childhood.  Seriously.  Paul's been wanting to get me one for awhile though, so I can go on bike rides with Noah.  Well, we got it today...and I'm totally hooked!  I love it!  The timing couldn't be better either.  You know that trip to New York and D.C. that Paul and I are taking in...oh, about 2 weeks?  What are we doing?  Bike tours - of both cities.  I'm a little freaked.  So, if you see someone crusin around town on a bright orange bike a lot in the next couple of weeks, that's just me training for our vacation.

Really though, I love it more than I thought I would.  Paul was really happy about this.  He said, "Maybe you have a new hobby!"  He asked me just the other day what my hobbies were and I couldn't come up with anything except reading...and, oh yeah, blogging.  So lookout everyone, I'm really branching out...bike rides around the block with my 4-year old : )

Paul's a little nervous - he thought I looked a little wobbly, but I don't think he should be talking.

Of course, Alex thinks she's big enough to ride it too, and "by herself!"

Paul,
By the looks of your balancing skills it seems like your equilibrium is probably still affected by that massive cliff we jumped off in Lake Powell you might want to get that checked out.

Paul, get off that bike, it's a chick bike, I'm worried what Noah will think of his daddy.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE beach cruisers and James got me one when we lived in SoCal...I wore that thing out! One of my last rides was when I was oh, you know, 8 months pregnant and HUGE with Bee in a carrier on back...can you imagine how ridiculous I looked? It rocked! I made James promise me that I'd get a new one once we're settled somewhere. That is a GREAT idea that you are training now, because you need to build callouses on your booty if you're doing bike tours.:) What a fun trip that's going to be! Yeah for you guys!
Can I just love Alex a ton, too? She is hilarious! I'm glad you survived your road trip...hopefully they'll forget about it by the next one.:)

I love your bike, it is so cute! I want to hear more about your trip to NY & DC. Will it include a jaunt to Virginia perhaps? Send me an email, I'm glad things are going so great for you guys!

I love the bike! It is awesome! But I am worried about how Paul is going to do on your bike tours in NY and DC...he looks a little shaky and unsure on your beach cruiser...
Are you going to give your bike a name? I think you should name it Wiget....why does that name sound familiar??

So fun! I actually asked for a bike for my birthday too! Andrew got a bike trailer for Easter. I think it is a fun thing to do, and totally miss it from my childhood!
