Remember way back when...when Paul was building us our first bed?
(sidenote: when I say first bed I don't mean the first bed that Paul's ever made - although it is that too - I literally mean our first bed. we've been sleeping on a mattress and boxsprings for 6 years. and you thought being married to a doctor was glamorous)
Here is the finished product.
I LOVE IT! Very impressive too, considering Paul had zero experience with carpentry prior to this project. (Of course we both harbor a secret fear that the bed is going to collapse - the kids have been strictly forbidden from jumping on or hiding under the bed - but so far so good)
Thanks Honey!
P.S. I love my new comforter too - Happy Mother's Day and Happy Birthday to me! (It goes great with the wallpaper too, don't you think? I really don't know why we decided to remove it in the first place.)

i love that comforter, too! where is it from? the bed looks awesome! way to go for your carpenter doctor husband!:) i'm glad you are enjoying rochester. moving is such a bittersweet time...missing friends but excited about what lies ahead. i miss cleveland this time of year...mostly all of the great friends! good luck on moving in and all of your projects! you'll have to do posts on your results, okay?:)
k, I love, love, love the comforter. I may just need to copy you because I've been looking for a replacement for years and haven't been able to find anything I like. It was so fun picking it up with you. And, nice job on the bed, Paul. If for whatever reason, the intern year is just too much, drop out and make beds. :)
i love it. im so jealous of your bedding and your hardwood floors too! and awesome job paul. now you have a back up plan if the whole dr thing doesn't work out.
I love that your first bed, Paul made! That is so cute, and it turned out great! I also love your comforter! It is adorable. And I think it's so funny that you don't let the kids jump on it or hide under it... I'm sure they would be fine, but that's a great way to keep them out of there! ;)
Good job Paul! It looks great. Jonathan has been telling me that he is going to make me a kitchen table for years. We will see when it actually happens. It was so fun seeing you guys, and hopefully we can make it up that way soon.
Nice job, Paul. It turned out great! And I love the new bedspread too! :)

Your bed looks fantastic, nice job Paul! I feel for you with the wall paper, I've done that at my Mom's house, it takes FOREVER! But I'm sure it's going to look so good when you're done with it all!
Did Alex pottytrain herself yet? I'm about ready to slit my wrists trying to train Brenna. I had no idea it would be this hard. I've given up three times though, I better stick with it this time...we'll see.
Good luck unpacking and working on all your projects!
It looks so great!!! Wow, I am so impressed. I loved the "married to a doctor comment" too. That was hilarious.
