Privacy Please

Yesterday I got together with my friend Jessica and she helped me sew up some curtains for my bedroom.  (Think 8 hours, 7 kids, a lot of craziness, a few mistakes, and some quality bonding time)

FINALLY!
I can get dressed without having to sit down on the floor to avoid being seen by the neighbors.

I think they turned out pretty good (especially considering I was the one doing most of the sewing).  Thanks Jessica!  I couldn't have done it without your expertise : )

These curtains are the finishing touch on the 'master bedroom project.'  Hurray!  One room down...a lot more to go.

Oh yeah, I guess now I have to hang things on the wall...there's always something more to do.

wait a second....didn't the bedroom used to be painted yellow? It looks blue now. I'm confused. :) But I LOVE the curtains. Seriously, making bread and then sewing curtains. You are becoming such the cutest housekeeper ever!

Good job on the curtains, Summer! Your house is looking great. I had to laugh when Nolan told me he left a comment on your blog awhile ago since he said almost the exact same thing I had said!

They look great! Hopefully no one will look close enough to see the little mistakes, especially the unpicking disaster.
That was a lot of fun. We need to do another project together.

See ya,
Jess

It looks beautiful Summer! Way to go! You have put in SO much time and energy into that room and it shows. Way to go! So, as far as Mike leaving for 8 months - maybe it's more like 7 1/2. He's in training for 6 weeks right now in New Jersey and then he leaves for Central/South America for 6 months in December. That will be without Jay and I of course :( I will probably get to visit him once or twice but that's it. We're not bringing Jay down there. He's actually deploying. DEPLOYING?!? Maybe you're thinking, but Mike's not in the military. He's a civilian, this isn't supposed to happen. Well, it does when you work for a military agency. Basically he has the choice of going or being out of a job... so he's going. Really though it's all going to be okay. He'll be perfectly safe and he'll get a lot of really really good experience which will ultimately help his career. Jay and I will be spending the six months in Provo and then California/Hawaii - so I can't really complain. He's got the worse end of the stick! Anyway, we miss you guys so much and wish we could see each other. Will you be in Utah at all in December? We should be here for a month before Mike leaves. Let us know and we can plan some fun stuff!
